Interior Work day 2

I can't believe how fast these guys are working! Keira's room and the boys room were finished yesterday. Today, they're going to paint the bathroom (The texture had to dry overnight), and begin on the entry way, staircase wall, and upstairs playroom. The boys slept on their mattresses in Keira's room, and Keira slept on a little palette we made for her in our room. It all worked out, and everybody got to sleep!

Being a stay at home mom and all, I was nervous about just sitting here in the house all day while they work. Not because I was afraid of anything, but it can just be awkward to do your daily routine when someone else you don't know is in your house! It hasn't been awkward though. I've used my humor and nice southern hospitality to make them and myself comfortable! They've laughed at me taking pictures, I've given them water, and told them to go take their lunch break! ha.

Yesterday, the guy that does speak english stepped out to buy paint and the guy that doesn't speak english was still here working. From time to time, I peeked in the rooms to take pictures and it looked like he was painting the ceiling tan (instead of white). I sent Edwin an email and asked what I was supposed to do since we couldn't communicate! I went back in Keira's room and just pointed up and said "blanco?!" I felt retarded that I couldn't actually communicate (considering I took many years of Spanish in high school and College!). He was just using a primer and covering a patch. Again, I felt retarded but got tickled at myself for pointing and saying "blanco?!" (that's white in Spanish in case you didn't know that!)

This is the beginning work of the entry and stairway wall. You can see how "Intrusive" the work is beginning to be! ha. I"m not sure what we're going to do when they do the kitchen! Eat out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?! Oh law!
This is a better view (see my computer on the chair? That's where I"m sitting and writing this)
Here is one view of the upstairs playroom. We obviously couldn't remove all the furniture, since there's no place else for it! We pushed it all to the middle and they just covered it up with plastic.

This is Keira's finished room. Yeah!

This is the boy's finished room. This picture makes it look tiny, but this is one side of the room. Trust me; two boys and their furniture fit in here! They still have to do a few finishing touches, and they're storing all the supplies in here for now.
Ta Da; that's it for now!

  4. Ugh. I hate it when people are working in my house, and I'm not even a stay-at-home anything. I am about to redo my bathroom and just looking at your pics is making me rethink it.

I found you on Ashley's Happy Little Home, where we won awards today!
