House and kids update

This is manly to family and those that are praying we close on our house!

Today is exactly 3 WEEKS past our original closing date. Seriously. We're under contract on a foreclosure and the bank has just completely dropped the ball on this. We have 5 DAYS left on our contract, and we're no closer to closing, than we were 3 weeks ago. There are many people involved calling and sending emails, trying to get answers and push for closing. We've been told all that's left, is to be assigned a closer and we should at the LATEST next Wednesday. We'll see..

We've boxed up alot (so I've been cooking in ONE casserole pan and rewashing constantly, since everything else is packed!). We have our painters and new floors standing by, awaiting our call to do work! Its been very frustrating and stressful; but, there's nothing we can do about it!

In other news; Kade was at preteen camp this week and had a great time! Kase has developed a personality and will be 3 months next Wednesday! I can't believe it! Kai just turned 8 and Keira's birthday is next weekend, and will be 6! holy smokes. We only have 1 more week before returns back as a teacher, and the following week is when the 3 kiddos go to school. Summer went really fast; as I expected though with having a baby!

I"m hoping to have POSITIVE house news soon!

Kase; hey faaaaaaty!

So much has gone on since the last time I blogged. I really shouldn't let that much time pass, but life is busy; so Im sorry!

Kase is NOT colicky. What a quack of a dr. No, Im kidding; but maybe he was in the beginning. He's been on reflux medicine and it certainly seems to have changed him! Of course he still cries and sometimes has difficult nights; but he's a baby! He's 13lbs now; hey faaaaty! He's in the 90th percentile! I guess I"m a feeding machine! He's definitely developed a personality and I love to see him smile! He doesnt sleep long at one time; takes little cat naps during the day, and still likes to be held all the time. Edwin says I'm beginning to develop bad habits that will effect the next 4-6 years! eeks. BUT don't you feel like you're in survival mode when you have a baby!? Im just trying to make it through the day, and consider it exceptional if I get dinner on the table or get ANY housework done!

He still goes only 2 hours in between feedings, which really stinks at night. BUT it doesn't bother me anymore; as long as he's not having crying spells during the night! He usually wakes up around 5am or so and is very restless and doesn't really go back to sleep. That kinda stinks, because I certainly don't want to wake up at 5am! But Edwin told me that's usually when babies wake up. BOOOOOOOO

We went to Florida a few weeks ago and kase was just perfect! We had two flights to get there, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. All the kids were great; what a blessing. Of course they all fell apart when we got home. Isn't that typical. Florida was so fun though! The weather was overcast, which was PERFECT for Kase and I to be on the beach and by the pool!

Did I tell you that we bought a house?! We were SUPPOSED to close last Friday, but when you're dealing with a foreclosure; details and timing are crappy. There's one little detail the bank has to do, and they just haven't done it yet. Come on! Closing was supposed to be THIS Friday, but now we're going to be out of town for a funeral, and we're HOPING to close early next week. We want this house! Im trying not to get stressed with all these details, and an upcoming road trip with a 2 month old. I can cry just thinking about it all.

Enough of the words. Here are some updated pictures!

Last but not least; this is the house we're trying to close on!

We're the proud owners of colicky baby!

Welp; we took Kase to the dr last week to go over a few "concerns" we had, and Colic was confirmed. Poor thing has a difficult time going to the potty, and grunts and fusses alot. We found out that's a part of colic and there's just nothing we can do about it! The worst part is, seeing him in discomfort and not being able to really alleviate or help him. Also a part of being colicky, is having feeding issues. Im breast-feeding and he seems to always be hungry and not getting enough! We're supplementing with formula every once and a while (especially when we're out and about and Im not able to breast-feed!), and he seems to do really well on a bottle.

Edwin's helping out tremendously. Im able to go to sleep around 9 or 10pm, and he'll stay up with him in the family room, as late as 2am! Then I have a few hours of uninterrupted sleep, and Im able to handle waking up every hour a little more gracefully! Yes; every hour. Its rare to have more than 1 1/2 hours of straight sleep with him. The only bummer is usually around 5:30 or 6:00, Kase is really fussy and wont stay asleep in his bassinet! BOO

Have any of you had a colicky baby? We purchased a book our doctor recommended, so I'm looking forward to reading it. We heard swaddling helps, but Kase is very hot natured and doesn't really like being bundled! We've found different holding positions help when he's upset, and we're trying Gripe Water for a few days, to see if it alleviates any symptoms. When it comes down to it, we just have a few months ahead of us, to do the best we can!

In the end, we're really thankful that we have a healthy baby, and we're in love with him; despite his grunts and fussiness!

On another note, we're under contract on a new house! It happened very quickly and we're really excited about the move (same city; kids dont have to change schools). The house just seems to be perfect and meet our needs of a family of 6! Pictures to come soon!

labor/Delivery/Kase pictures

Sorry its taking me a while to post more pictures! I seriously feel like Im constantly feeding; a human vending machine. Kase is also pretty fussy and does NOT like to be put down, or to be on his back! Makes for very LONG nights. He loves to snuggle up and sleep on mommy and daddy's chest, and is just content to stay like that!

My mom and mother in law
Edwin giving me some love during labor
My dad hiding behind a curtain during delivery. He wanted to be in the room, but not "IN" the room!
Some oxygen before push time
Taking a little rest (I slept through most of labor)
Pushing! I had Edwin bring that fan from home! The medicine I was on made me so HOT! I had it 60 degrees in the room!
Poor little guy needed some oxygen right when he came out.

First glimpse of Kase
Kase Holden Twitty; brand new
Daddy and brothers
Party in my room! It was about this time that I spiked a fever and got real sick, and they took Kase to the nursery til the next day. :(

At home in our lamb seat
Sporting some stylish fashions
Day 5: going for a pedi
He's not a fan of his bassinet. He doesnt like to be on his back! Just on mommy and daddy

Most of these pictures were taken with IPhones so they're not great quality! I have more pictures on our camera, but I can't locate the USB cord at the moment!

Kase Holden Twitty; 6lb 12 oz

After a routine doctor's appointment May 18th, I was admitted to the hospital for preeclampsia
and induced May 19th! It was definitely a whirl wind, and I was in the hospital til Friday! YUCK! I would say that labor and delivery was "easy", and it was all the other issues that arrived that made it very difficult. I was on medication for preeclampsia that made me feel sick, antibiotics because my white blood cells doubled, and I spiked a high fever and had clots soon after delivering Kase. BUT; we're home now, and Kase and I are both healthy! I'll post more pictures soon!

Week 38; partial bed rest

Sorry the picture isn't great; I just took it with my phone.

My dr.'s appointment yesterday went well, and Im still progressing a little bit. Any progress with 2 weeks left is encouraging! My weight is climbing a little higher than
1. I wanted
2. was projected

My doctor didnt say anything, so she must not be worried about it. My appetite is normal so I know Im not overeating or anything! Must be all that water retention :)

Speaking of; my feet are huge. I have the Koolaid man's feet. My blood pressure was normal yesterday, but my doctor did say "wow" when she looked at my feet! Thanks.

Today I noticed the swelling was even more significant, and is moving up my calf. Its actually a bit sore/painful to the touch and leaves an indention when I push in with my finger (isnt that neat?!) SOOOOOOO being a first time prego and all, I called my doctor.
Me- Yes, I was just there yesterday but I'm really puffy!

My doctor told me I need to stay off my feet (there's the self diagnosed bed rest part). Obviously, swelling is normal; but they want me to take it easy and not do as much as I'm doing. AND call if I start getting headaches or blurred vision (which is preeclampsia stuff)

Do they know how difficult that is?! Stay off my feet?!

Doctor's are confusing:
*Walk around a lot and still get plenty of exercise! Walking can kick start labor!
*Stay off your feet! Rest!

I dont like to feel helpless or even ask for help. Sometimes you HAVE to get help, but I always feel bad when I ask. I feel guilty sitting in my glider, when I know the laundry needs to be done. I feel guilty that Im sitting in my bed right now with my feet elevated, knowing that Edwin is about to fix dinner. But then again; it feels nice to take it easy right now, with 2 weeks left.

I still dont have a lot to complain about. I've felt pretty good, despite my feet hurting. I've had a bit more "pressure" and some pains this week, but thats all due to the fact that Kase has officially dropped. Im really not too uncomfortable, and as long as I dont have to walk much; Im golden.

It's still difficult to foresee being in labor and actually have Kase. I know one day Im going to have contractions or my water is going to break, but its so weird to think of it actually happening!

I've had all my showers, I've spent some gift cards (saving a lot for diapers and stuff as needed!), my hospital bag is packed, the diaper bag is full, the car seat is installed (booster, carseat, booster, and Kade in the back back! crazy), baby monitor charged and in position.....it's just a waiting game now!

Family- I have field day pictures of Kai and Kade that I"m hoping to post soon! I know ya'll like to see kiddo pictures to stay updated! I'll try to work on it tomorrow!

Maternity Pictures

My friend Amanda, with Vivitography, took my maternity pictures last Friday. It was a blast spending the morning with her since we're good friends, and living in different cities! Here are some favs...
